The P3C QEC Mounting adapter has been designed, developed and supplied, to enable the P3C Quick Engine Change Units (QEC), installed on the P3 Orion aircraft to be mounted to a C130 Transportation and storage Trolley.

The P3 QEC Mounting adapter is a unique concept which comprises of a fabricated and machined stress relieved structure, which locates and easily attaches to the 4-point cone bolt mounts of the standard C130 QEC Transport Trolley or the re-designed C130 QEC Transport Trolley ATL 1169-001 and allows the P3C QEC to interface and be attached with or without its respective propeller upon the vertical mast assembly.

The P3C Orion QEC Adapter has 4 swivel castors to allow the adapter to be mobile and moved around easily by personnel whilst on the ground and a components storage box to store all the required hardware for the mounting adapter.

The P3C QEC adapter also provides the 4-machined mounting points to interface with the P3C Orion QEC sloped rear mounting points

The design of the adapter also allows for a Water Vapour Resistant Bag (WVR) “Aero-Bag” to be fitted to the QEC to enable the Quick Engine Change Units QEC to be stored and preserved against the environment for indefinite periods of time whilst mounted onto the storage/ transport support stand. The durable bag assemblies are produced as one assembly, such that that it completely encloses and protects its contents from potential corrosive elements in the external ambient environment.
