Turbofan Mobile Engine Test Systems
Mobile Engine Test Systems (METS)
Aerotest Mobile Engine Test Systems was converted from a TRI-METS that was designed and
tested the Quick Engine Change Unit (QECU) of large turboprops (Lockheed 130H/J and AP3C
Orion) to provide full performance testing of the Honeywell ALF502R5 and 507F (Fadec).
The well - designed flexible METS considerably lowers overhaul facility maintenance and
operational costs. Combined with reduced construction costs compared to conventional test
cells, it delivers significant cost savings for customers.
All Aerotest METS are made entirely bespoke, allowing us to tailor every system to our
customers exact requirements. Our bespoke approach is the basis for all of our products and
services offered, underlying everything we do at Aerotest; enabling our Customers to extract the
maximum out of their investments.

Multi-Engine METS
Aerotest were sole-sourced for the world’s first Duel QECU METS to support the UK RAF as the launch Customer of the new digital C-130J Hercules Aircraft.
Aerotest METS have combined testing capabilities for both the C-130J & C-130H QECU, along with full forward and reverse thrust testing for the Propeller, Generator and Hydraulic Systems Loading.
Commended by Lockheed Martin Inc the Hercules OEM on its “exceptionally advanced design”, Aerotest’s unique test trailer is the first and only in the world with the ability to support the QECU at the same centre-line height to the aircraft wing, reducing FOD risk and induced propeller tip strain. Additionally, the hydraulic front and rear access scissor lift platforms reduce aerodynamic backwash and induced propeller strain. Meticulous attention to detail and in depth Aeronautical engineering expertise we bring to every project, has helped us to exceed customer expectations and set us apart from others whom struggle with lack of aero engine research, manufacturing overhaul and testing knowledge.
